Dear Residents of Assembly District 18,
It has been an honor to serve as your Assembly Delegate for District 18, where I have proudly fought for justice, accountability, and equity. I am running for re-election because I remain deeply committed to advocating for our community, supporting our most vulnerable neighbors, and ensuring that our district has a strong, unapologetic voice at every level of decision-making.
As your delegate, I have prioritized action and service. I’ve led efforts to organize trash clean-ups in East Oakland, bringing neighbors together to reclaim and restore our streets and public spaces. I’ve worked to support our local small businesses—the backbone of our economy—by connecting them with resources and opportunities to thrive. I have stood firm in protecting seniors, ensuring they have access to the resources and support they need to live with dignity. Additionally, I have been an outspoken advocate for Palestine, standing in solidarity with movements for justice and human rights both locally and globally.
In addition, I have worked at every level—city, county, and state-wide conventions—to advocate for policies that combat fascism, homophobia, and transphobia. As a Black queer leader, I understand the urgency with the re-election of trump, the need to stand against these oppressive forces and to create sanctuary, inclusive spaces for all members of our community. Whether amplifying marginalized voices, challenging discriminatory policies, or building coalitions for equity, I have remained steadfast in this fight.
I am proud of what we’ve accomplished together so far, but there is much more work to be done. I bring the experience, passion, and commitment to continue building a more just and equitable future for all of us in District 18.
I humbly ask for your continued support and your vote for re-election as your Assembly Delegate.
In solidarity and service,
Chaney Turner
